[Announce-test] PEER Annual Meeting, Jan 17-18

Dear NHERI colleagues,

We would like to bring your attention to the upcoming PEER Annual Meeting
that will be held Jan17-18, 2019 on the UCLA campus.  Of particular
interest are the following sessions that include presentations of two
specific NHERI Facilities: SimCenter and the RAPID Facility. The PEER
Annual Meeting is a great opportunity for the NHERI community to meet the
SimCenter and RAPID Facility leadership and learn how these facilities can
be effectively utilized.

The 2019 PEER Annual Meeting "*Seismic Resilience 25 Years after
Northridge: Accomplishments and Challenges*"

be held Thursday and Friday, January 17-18, 2019 at the Mong Auditorium on
the UCLA campus.

Presentations include an overview of the Northridge earthquake, its impact
on the community, and lessons learned.  Advances and challenges since the
earthquake will also be discussed.

Forward-looking sessions feature research and applications on topics
including:

   - Ground motion and geohazards
   - PBEE applications – to regional lifeline systems; to promote discounts
   for single-family dwellings
   - Advances in infrastructure monitoring and reconnaissance
   - New trends in seismic design of bridges
   - Computational tools for simulating natural hazard effects and
   community resilience

time. Whereas an initial tsunami warning has been lifted and initial
reports of life loss and injury are few, the impact to buildings,
