As a design philosophy, it aims to improve rather to accurately predict the performance of a structural system. Research efforts have so far focused on extreme loading conditions with the majority of them addressing earthquake resilience, i.e. how to design a structural system to return to functionality after a short, if not immediate, time after a strong earthquake. Within 40 minutes, this seminar will present the major outcomes of two research projects on resilience-based design completed by the presenter and co-workers in the UK.

<div class="gmail-row" style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:14px">
Details and registration on DesignSafe-CI.
