opportunity for hands-on research experience in the field of <b>natural
hazards engineering</b>.<span></span></span></p>

the course of the summer, students work side-by-side with earthquake, wind,
tsunami and coastal engineers, geoscientists, and data scientists – all
dedicated to mitigating the effects of natural hazards. Participants deploy to
one of NHERI’s 10 </span><a href="https://www.designsafe-ci.org/facilities/experimental/"><span style="font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(0,173,216)">hazard-engineering,</span></a><span style="font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:gray"> </span><a href="https://simcenter.designsafe-ci.org/"><span style="font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(0,173,216)">simulation</span></a><span style="font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:gray"> and </span><a href="https://www.designsafe-ci.org/about/designsafe/"><span style="font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(0,173,216)">cyberinfrastructure
facilities</span></a><span style="font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif;color:gray"> around the country.</span></p>
