New earthquake engineering course modules from Lehigh

The NHERI Lehigh EF, working with the DesignSafe team, has developed a
course modules section on the EF website
<https://lehigh.designsafe-ci.org/facility/overview/>. We would like to
announce this new feature to the community:


The NHERI Lehigh EF has created the following course modules on earthquake
engineering topics:

1- Seismicity, Effects on the Built Environment Background

2- Equivalent Lateral Load Procedure ASCE 7 – Part 1

3- Equivalent Lateral Load Procedure ASCE 7 – Part 2

4- Understanding Seismic Hazard and Selecting Ground Motions



These course modules were developed by James Ricles, Professor of
Structural Engineering at Lehigh University, Richard Sause, Professor of
Structural Engineering at Lehigh University, and Brent Chancellor, former
PhD graduate research assistant at Lehigh University.



The modules are used in a senior level undergraduate course entitled
Building Systems Design and in a graduate course on earthquake engineering.
The contents of the modules are related to research that was performed at
the Lehigh Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI)
Experimental Facility. Video of experiments and data from tests performed
at the Lehigh EF are included in the modules.
