Postdoc, PhD student openings, National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University

The National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University is looking for a
Post-Doctoral Research Associate and a Ph.D. student(s) to work with Dr.
John Schroeder.



Projects are focused on revealing new spatiotemporal knowledge of the
low-level wind field for wind engineering or wind energy applications using
research radars to provide high-resolution dual Doppler measurements often
superimposed with near-surface wind observations (i.e., ground truth using
the StickNet platforms in hurricanes and thunderstorms) and/or wind turbine
performance and response characteristics.



Preferred candidates would maintain a background in atmospheric science
and/or wind engineering/energy, experience and/or a desire to work on field
campaigns, experience and/or a desire to synthesize and explore detailed
radar data, and a proven background in working with very large data sets.
