Facility (EF) and the NHERI Natural Hazards Reconnaissance Facility (referred
to as the “RAPID Facility") will be hosting a one-and-a-half day user
workshop at Florida International University (FIU), in Miami. The focus of the
workshop is to:<span></span></span></p>

researchers with information on the capabilities of the NHERI WOW EF and
RAPID EF for advanced natural hazard engineering research<span></span></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);background:white;margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue",sans-serif">Explore
opportunities to use the NHERI EFs for unsolicited, CAREER, and other
types of NSF proposals -- one session will be dedicated to “Preparing
Competitive NSF Proposals (including CAREER Proposals)”<span></span></span></li>

members with valuable information about the resources and services available at
the NHERI WOW and RAPID EFs, and how to better engage the EFs for obtaining NSF
funding for natural hazards mitigation research and other basic science
research. Also, the workshop will include a tour of the NHERI WOW EF facility
and a live test demonstration of the two EFs’ capabilities. Participation and
financial support for travel will be limited and priority will be given to
faculty planning to submit NSF proposals that intend to use the NHERI WOW
and/or RAPID EFs. Financial support for attending the workshop will be awarded
in order of registration. We look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming
