<div dir="ltr"><font face="verdana, sans-serif" color="#444444">Colleagues, </font><div><font face="verdana, sans-serif" color="#444444"><br></font></div><div><font face="verdana, sans-serif" color="#444444">We have received funding for up to 10 participants to the next meeting scheduled on Feb 7-8, 2019 in Kobe, Japan.<br><br></font></div><div><font face="verdana, sans-serif" color="#444444">It will be held in conjunction with the test of the wood structure at E-Defense of the Tokyo Metropolitan Project. See details at <a href="https://www.designsafe-ci.org/facilities/nco/partnerships/nied/" target="_blank">https://www.designsafe-ci.org/facilities/nco/partnerships/nied/</a> in the report of the first meeting of July 2017 and presentations.<br><br>Prof. Nagae, lead researcher for this test, will be participating as well as his collaborators, including Prof. Koliou's research team from the USA. The test is scheduled during the first day of the meeting. Currently an agenda for the meeting is being developed with our partners from Japan.<br><br>The funding from NSF to support US participants came with some parameters. Priority will be given to individuals who have submitted and are working on submitting proposals under this collaboration. Also, several spots will be reserved for early career faculty and researchers from underrepresented groups.
