Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to
create the Mitigation Matters Research Program which will provide small grants,
typically between $1,500 to $2,500, to researchers to conduct studies on
hazards mitigation. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The program prioritizes funding for submissions that propose
new research on the social, behavioral, and economic aspects of mitigation.
Those that feature interdisciplinary approaches addressing the intersection
between humans, hazards risk, and the built environment will also be
prioritized for funding.</p>

evaluated and awarded twice annually. Upcoming submission deadlines are <b>October
1, 2019</b> and <b>March 1, 2020 - 7pm Eastern time.</b></p>
