<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt">The 3rd workshop for the MECHS community will be held March
16-17th, 2019, from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon. It will be held
in Cali, Colombia, hosted by Profs. Johannio Marulanda and Peter Thomson
of the Universidad del Valle. The overarching objective this year will be
to focus on major accomplishments with the aim to broaden the set of users
able to exploit new capabilities. We will also be interacting with the
growing group of researchers in Colombia and across Latin America, that
are interested in utilizing hybrid simulation methods for cyber
physical experimentation. <span style="font-size:11pt"></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt"> <span style="font-size:11pt"></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt"><b><span style="border:1pt none windowtext;padding:0in">Travel</span></b><b> grants are available for ~20
participants who wish to actively participate in the workshop. </b>We
would like to extend an invitation to all to submit your <span style="border:1pt none windowtext;padding:0in">request</span> at this time. Travel grants are dedicated to
faculty and researchers residing in the USA. We especially encourage early
career faculty interested in hybrid simulation to apply. A portion of these
grants will be set aside for PhD students who apply. <span style="font-size:11pt"></span></p>

Note that the 1st MECHS Workshop <i>"Breaking Barriers and
Building Capacity</i>" was held on December 12-13, 2017 at the
University of California, San Diego; and the Joint ETH/MECHS Workshop (2nd)
“<i>New Frontiers and Innovative Methods for Hybrid Simulation</i>” was held on
March 13-15 at ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. A major outcome of those
workshops was the development of a Research Agenda on Hybrid Simulation,
which is posted on the MECHS website. <span style="font-size:11pt"></span></p>
