and Materials Laboratory at the University of Florida (UF) is one of the designated
shared-use Experimental Facilities under NSF’s Natural Hazards Engineering
Research Infrastructure (NHERI) program. The UF NHERI EF is primarily dedicated
to studying extreme wind events in its state-of-the-art boundary layer wind

workshops for potential users interested in wind hazard research. <b>September's workshop focus is BLWT hybrid simulation: wind tunnel testing coupled with numerical models. </b>Register

Learning Center</a>.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><br></p><p style="margin:0in 0in 7.5pt;box-sizing:border-box;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)">The goals of the workshops are to:</span></p>

potential users to the experimental capabilities offered by the UF NHERI
EF</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);box-sizing:border-box;margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Provide
details on the services offered to users from proposal development to
project close-out</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);box-sizing:border-box;margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Present
opportunities for the competitive pursuit of NSF funding and initiate
proposals that utilize the EF</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);box-sizing:border-box;margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Facilitate
networking with fellow researchers</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);box-sizing:border-box;margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Provide
in-depth information on the EF’s novel experimental technologies
(Technology Focus areas will vary by workshop; topics to include: Test
Automation, Flow Field Modulator, PIV System, and Hybrid Simulation)<br><br></li></ul><p style="margin:0in 0in 7.5pt;box-sizing:border-box;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;color:rgb(51,51,51)">Each
workshop will be held via Zoom in two, interactive half-day sessions over a
two-day period. The first half-day will provide an overview of the facility
(the same for each workshop) and the second half-day will include a Technology
Focus, an in-depth session on a specific aspect of the EF (different for each
workshop). Proposal development meetings between individual researchers and EF
personnel will be scheduled in the week following the workshop. Participants
interested in more than one Technology Focus are encouraged to register for
