announce the official opening of the 2021 Research Experiences for
Undergraduates (REU) season. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"> </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">For the 2021 NHERI REU program, the ECO is excited to bring
research opportunities to 11 multi-hazard engineering facilities during a
10-week summer research program. The <b>NHERI Research Experiences for
Undergraduates (REU)</b> is dedicated to helping undergraduate college
students experience multi-hazard (earthquake, wind, tsunamis, and coastal)
engineering as well as reconnaissance, cyberinfrastructure, simulation, data
management, and social science research. Students experience a hands-on,
research-based project that will introduce them to a network of engineers,
scientists and students working to mitigate the effects of natural hazards and
understanding the impact of natural hazards on society.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Apply and find program details in the REU section of

on <b>October 8, at 4:00 pm CST</b>. It is a chance to meet former NHERI REU students,
