We are pleased to provide below details about some recent updates to the DesignSafe<https://www.designsafe-ci.org/> Cyberinfrastructure. We invite you to explore the various capabilities available:
New tools:
* LS-Dyna, LS-PrePost, and Matlab 2019b are currently available in the Workspace<https://www.designsafe-ci.org/rw/workspace>.
* Other tools are available that span all natural hazard domains and support computational simulation, data analysis, and visualization.
* OpenSees pre/post-processors STKO and GiD are coming soon!
Data Depot:
* The Field Research data model has been released, with the aim of supporting the organization and publication of data collected in the field. This new data model complements the existing Experimental, Simulation, Hybrid Simulation, and Other data models.
* We are currently working on expanding the field research data model to support the publication of social science data.
Published Datasets:
* Many dataset have been recently published in the Data Depot, including LIDAR datasets from the Ridgecrest earthquake, reconnaissance reports from Hurricane Dorian, and concrete wall tests from the University of Auckland.
* Visit the Data Depot<https://www.designsafe-ci.org/data/browser/public/> to browse or search the published DesignSafe datasets. Reconnaissance data can also be accessed via the Reconnaissance Portal<https://www.designsafe-ci.org/recon-portal/>.
Upcoming webinars in the Learning Center<https://www.designsafe-ci.org/learning-center/training/>:
* October 28: Leveraging Python, Jupyter Notebooks, DesignSafe, and the SimCenter Educational Tools in the Classroom (Barb Simpson, Oregon State)
* November 13: End to End Multi-Threat Fragility Modeling using DesignSafe (S Kameshwar, LSU)
* November 18: Introduction to STKO: The Scientific ToolKit for OpenSees (G. Camata, M.Petracca, ADSEA Inc.)
Professional Profile Update:
* To better understand our user demographics, we are asking users to update their selections for Natural Hazards Interests and Technical Domains within their DesignSafe Professional Profile.
* Starting next week, you will be prompted to update these selections upon your first login to DesignSafe.
Outreach:
* Drop by the NHERI booth at the AGU Fall Meeting to discuss how NHERI and DesignSafe can enhance your research!
As always, feel free to email me if you have any comments or questions about DesignSafe.
