Hi Robin,
I am wondering if you have any idea of how soon the committee expects to make a decision on applications for the NHERI GSC panel at the 14th annual Americas Conference on Wind Engineering? I have to present my research at the conference, it is accepted for oral presentation, so the stipend will help me to cover my expenses.
Warmly,
Amin

Subject: [NGSC] NHERI GSC Summer Institute Selection
NHERI GSC,
Good afternoon. Thank you to all those who applied to attend the NHERI Summer Institute. The NHERI ECO Committee has selected the five NHERI GSC members to attend. We hope you will apply again next year or as an early-career faculty member in the future!
There are still slots available for NHERI GSC members to participate in the NHERI GSC panel at the 14th annual Americas Conference on Wind Engineering. You only have to attend two panels (90 minutes each) and a community event one night of the conference. 20 NHERI GSC members will be selected and receive $800 for travel, accommodations, and meals, as well as the conference registration fee. The conference is May 17-19, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas.
This is a great chance to meet other NHERI GSC members in person as well as network with a variety of members of the NHERI network.
You may choose to participate in one of three ways:
* Research in-practice presentation: 5-minute research presentation of your research (introduce yourself, explain research and findings, no more than 3 slides).
* NGSC Overview: Share a five-minute overview of the NGSC experience and what we have accomplished by May. (NGSC member)
* NGSC Leadership Overview: Share a five-minute overview of your NGSC leadership experience and what we have accomplished by May (NGSC Executive Committee Member).
* NGSC Graduate & Professional Journey Panel: Share your graduate and professional journey with REU alumni and audience members (introduce yourself and explain the biggest thing you have learned during your graduate school and/or professional journey), discuss prepared questions with other NGSC panelists, and answer questions from the audience).

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great evening!
Best regards,
Robin Nelson
