Yes, we can try to cluster your papers into one or two sessions depending on how many you have. We are planning on 6 papers/presentations per session. I've copied Zoe Yin, EERI's Program Coordinator, who will be working with the 11NCEE technical program committee to arrange the sessions.

Good
afternoon,

Today, there was a conference call to discuss opportunities
with the organizers, Earthquake Engineering
Research Institute (EERI) of The Eleventh U.S. National
Conference on Earthquake Engineering (11NCEE) which
will convene June 25 through 29, 2018, in Los Angeles.
Present from NHERI were Steve Mahin (SimCenter), Jamie
Padgett (DesignSafe-CI) and JoAnn Browning (NCO Education
Leader). As an action item from the call, we were
asked to place before the NHERI Council the following two
items:

1. Organization of a NHERI Workshop at the event.

The objective would be to disseminate information about
NHERI among the participants at this conference
in particular about the new facilities, i.e. SimCenter,
DesignSafe-CI, the RAPID, the Wall of Wind at FIU,
the multi-component facility at the University of Florida, and
educational efforts.

As further background information, NHERI ECO organized a
session to make sure we have presence at
11NCEE, just as with the wind conference last spring. It is
important to keep a consistent/even presence
at these events. In regard to the NCO leading the workshop, we
are specially busy during the month of June.
We are already hosting the summer institute and as you all
know, NHERI Facilities and the NCO are managing
2 parallel REU programs during that month and the rest of the
summer. With that, our ability to lead
one more activity is limited.

However, there is little question that there is an opportunity
at this conference which takes place every four years.
For instance, designsafe and the simcenter could put a
workshop on data and simulation using designsafe etc.
or a training workshop for users of the new facilities, RAPID
(if ready to do so by June 2018), University of
Florida and FIU, and whoever else would like to participate.

2. Extend the currently approved session

11NCEE volunteered to put additional NHERI abstracts submitted
before Oct. 1 together with those in
the current session and we could have Part 1 and Part 2. If
you submitted one individually (not as part
of a session and not identified as NHERI), please let us know.
11th NCEE organizers volunteered to help
round them up. This will help us have a bigger community
presence at 11NCEE…which is the purpose.

Presently we have in hand 6:

1. SimCenter- Steve Mahin
2. The NHERI User Forum: Introduction and the Annual Community
Report
Russell Green (chair of User Forum), Nina Stark (vice chair of
User Forum), Elaina J. Sutley (presenting author) (secretary
of User Forum), Erik Johnson, Ramtin Kargarmoakhar, Mohamed
Elsharawy, Adda Athanasopoulos-Zekkos, James O. Malley, Liesel
Ritchie
3. The NHERI RAPID Facility: Enabling the Next-Generation of
Natural Hazards Reconnaissance-Joe Wartman, et al
4. Using Cloud-Based Data Analysis to Engage Undergraduates in
Natural Hazards Engineering Jamie Padgett, et al
5. Experimentally Validated Fragilities for Hurricane
Resilience of Transmission Systems- Abdollah Shafieezadeh, et
al
6. Seismic Evaluation of Drywall Partition Walls Integrated
with a Timber Rocking Wall and Flexible Diaphragm System- Keri
Ryan, et al

Apologies for the lengthy e-mail, and look forward to hearing
from you before Oct 1. Thanks!
