Just curious, when Rick Fragaszy retired, did the geotech
community do anything formal? If so, it might be good do
something similar for Joy. In coastal engineering, we’ll
sometimes dedicate a session to a person who recently retired
and has had a big impact on our field, but I’ve not seen this
done for a program manager. </div>

In a chat with Giovanna a couple weeks ago, the idea
of a workshop came up to honor Joy (in some way that
is feasible with NSF policies) and she was going to
look into it. Will check back with Giovanna to see if
it has any legs, but think it could be along the lines
of "NHERI presents" but with the biggest outcomes that
launch us into the next 10 years. What do you think?</div>
