UPDATE: 2018 Joint Wall of Wind and Lehigh Experimental Facility User Workshop, Dec. 6 & 7

The FIU NHERI Wall of Wind (WOW) Experimental Facility (EF) and the Lehigh
Real-Time Multi-Directional Testing EF will be hosting a one-and-a-half day
user workshop at Florida International University (FIU), *Miami, FL, on Dec
6 & 7*.

The focus of the workshop is to:

   1. Provide researchers with information on the capabilities of the NHERI
   WOW EF and Lehigh EF for advanced natural hazard engineering research. A
   WOW EF tour and demo will be included.
   2. Explore opportunities to use the NHERI EFs for unsolicited, CAREER,
   SBIR, and other types of NSF proposals -- one session will be dedicated to
   “Preparing Competitive NSF Proposals (including CAREER Proposals).”
   3. Describe cross-disciplinary opportunities to leverage the use of
   hybrid simulation technologies in wind testing and to perform large- and
   full-scale experiments using the NHERI WOW and Lehigh EFs and available
   tools in both EFs.
   4. Provide one-on-one sessions between EFs’ team members and workshop
   participants to discuss research ideas and experimentation plans for NSF
   proposals.
   5. Discuss the Science Plan focusing on key research areas emerging in
   natural hazard engineering.
   6. Provide a platform for collaboration to facilitate
   multi-disciplinary, multi-hazards research.
