*Position Overview:*
A postdoctoral scholar is sought for a position in Community Resilience
working under the advisement of Dr. Elaina J Sutley in the Civil,
Environmental and Architectural Engineering Department at the University of
Kansas.
The successful candidate will serve as a postdoctoral scholar in the
NIST-funded Center of Excellence (COE) on Risk-Based Community Resilience
Planning, conducting research on risk and resilience assessment in the
faceann of natural hazards, and support multi-disciplinary research on
community resilience, including design and implementation of
interdisciplinary recovery frameworks. The postdoctoral scholar will play
an important role in the Center’s Field Study activities, and on
verification and validation of the open source IN-CORE (Interdependent
Networked Community Resilience Modeling Environment). The anticipated scope
of work includes advancing housing recovery models, developing
organizational criticality measures using network analysis for assessing
community resilience, and field study design. For further details on the
