I am a former IBM Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Internet2
Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, and aerospace engineer
at NASA Jet Propulsion Lab and Grumman Aerospace Corporation. From the
NHERI perspective, I have begun working with NHERI leaders such as Lori
Peek to consider how we can bring researchers from COVID and pandemic
domains into the fold with the NHERI researchers, to enable collaborative
research for the convergent forces of pandemics and natural hazards and
disasters together. Being part of the User Forum would allow us to enable
more of this type of collaboration. I would also be able to help with
transition of research to practice (TTP), as I led TTP efforts for
cybersecurity research on multiple NSF awards, and led that work at IBM as
VP of corporate Strategy as documented in a Harvard Case Study on Emerging

A reminder: the deadline for nominating new members to the NHERI User Forum
is this Friday, June 25.


The User Forum (UF) is a NHERI-wide group composed of representatives from
the broad scientific and engineering communities served by NHERI, and
elected by you, members of the user community. One of the focuses of the UF
is to provide the NHERI Governance with specific input on community user
satisfaction, priorities, and needs relating to the use and capabilities of
NHERI.
