Good afternoon,

I would like to nominate myself to be a part of the NHERI User Forum. I am currently a research assistant professor at the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center at Texas A&M, but will be starting as an assistant professor in the fall at the University of Florida Shimberg Center for Housing and the Rinker School of Construction Management. I also conduct research through the NIST Center for Risk-Based Community Resilience Planning.

My background is in urban planning and my expertise is generally in the social science aspects of disasters and how impact and recovery vary across populations, space, and social units. My expertise is in small business impact and recovery, linking physical, social and economic models, disaster recovery policy, quasi-experimental design, and survey methods. I am very interested in research to practice and host business continuity trainings for FEMA Region 6.

I use DesignSafe frequently and have been trained in the equipment at the RAPID center. I do a lot of interdisciplinary research and would love to be a part of this group. Thank you for considering me.

The User Forum (UF) is a NHERI-wide group composed of representatives from the broad scientific and engineering communities served by NHERI, and elected by you, members of the user community.
