[Announce-test] TEST-The passing of a distinguished researcher, engineer and colleague

Dear NHERI Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Prof. Steve
Mahin on February 9, following his courageous struggle with pancreatic
cancer. Steve was an inspiring leader and visionary engineer. He
contributed to the community in so many ways. It was his far-reaching
imagination that created the SimCenter, and we will miss his leadership and
his warm friendship.

Sanjay Govindjee and Greg Deierlein have been co-directing the SimCenter
since Steve became ill this past fall, and they plan to continue as
co-directors. The people on the SimCenter team are more committed than ever
to fulfilling Steve's, and their, vision.
