We do not reencode the file into a new stream. Using our Preview file feature in the Data Depot, we look for one of those 3 file extensions and then open that file and play it.

Does this reencode the file into a new stream? Does it support h.264 and is it supported on chrome and Firefox, ie not activex or flash video

We are implementing a video viewing capability in the portal that is currently working in our Development environment and will be in our next production release. It initially supports .mp4, .ogg, and .webm formats which are formats that browsers readily support.
What additional video file formats should we be considering to support your facility?

Thanks,
Tim
