Website Update
* The sub site designs, when will it be rolled out? It depends, the design is almost finish and our portals team will be the one rolling it out.
* Your websites wont be affected much except for the header and the footer; It will not impact your ability to edit your pages
* It won't impact the workflow and nothing should break but will give a heads up when we transition
* There might be a short site freeze when we roll out the template frame
* We have been updating the different sections of DesignSafe has been rolling them out
* Didn't have all the info when we were building the site, but now we do so we are trying to reorganize the site
* If you want any changes or new navigation now would be a good time to let us know
* You can submit a ticket for any changes
* Slack can be used for quick discussions and advice
* Can the websites be managed by both the EF sites and TACC? Yes each site has an assigned editor that can make changes; please let Hedda know if you need to add or change who it is.
* Hedda can also do a quick training session on how to edit the page
* Workshop/Event request document https://www.designsafe-ci.org/learning-center/training/event-request-form/
* Let us know how often you would like an event announced after we send out the initial announcement
Broadening our reach
* Working with the NCO to broaden our reach to the community
* We have 6K registered user accounts; but some are grad students so there is a certain amount of turnover of active users
* If you have email lists that you have access and permission to share with us that would be welcomed. We would like to expand the reach of our announcements.
* Will be moving to a real mailing service, Mailjet; the newer service is more configurable and we are able to create multiple lists
DesignSafe Storage - Update from Chris Jordan
* Corral - we have the funding to replace it
* we now have all the support components, and we are currently in the process of setting up the new hardware, so we are past the delays introduced by the storm, and then by the Suez blockage.
* We will begin migrating data in the coming weeks and we will then be in a better position to schedule transition to the new system.
* With regard to the transparency of the migration, there is one important caveat that folks should be aware of - the paths beginning with /corral-repl/ are persistent, non-system-specific, and will remain in place across hardware transitions. Paths beginning with /gpfs/corral3/repl/ are specific to the current iteration of the hardware, and will go away.
* Users and projects can prepare for the transition by changing any paths that use /gpfs/corral3/repl to use /corral-repl/ instead, and they can then be insulated against the current and any future hardware updates.
* They can do this now if they need to. Just replace the text "/gpfs/corral3/repl" in any and all paths with "/corral-repl" instead.
Publish Your Data
* We have sent announcement about some of the work we have done Lori Peek and social scientists to publish your data
* We encourage people to publish their data formally through DesignSafe and obtaining a DOI.
* We would like to do more of these workshops and events; we can do a workshop at your community (virtually or in person) and walk them through how to publish
* We are starting to add impact metrics so you will see how many downloads and file previews for a project. There is also a micro-survey for every 10th download to get some more info on how the data is being used and how it is impacting users
* Any tracking assistance DesignSafe can provide on data reuse would be very helpful
