*1. Assistant /Associate Professor Civil & Environmental Engineering*
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of
Nevada, Reno invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in
bridge and transportation infrastructure engineering with appointment at
the Assistant or Associate Professor level dependent on experience and
qualifications. In accordance with the University’s mission as a land grant
institution, duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching,
supervision of graduate students, development and execution of a
significant externally funded research program, and university service.

*2. Assistant/Associate Professor Transportation Engineering*
The School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science (CEES) within the
Gallogly College of Engineering (GCoE) at the University of Oklahoma (OU)
invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant
or Associate Professor level in Transportation Engineering. All areas
within transportation engineering will be considered, though candidates
with expertise in the following areas are preferred: traffic estimation and
control; traffic simulations in real time during extreme events; traffic
safety; transportation data analytics; connected & autonomous vehicle
operations; electric vehicle charging on roadways while travelling; mobile
sensing; cyber dependency of transportation networks; and interdependencies
between transportation systems and other infrastructure systems. The
candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers at OU's
National Institute for Risk and Resilience (risk.ou.edu) and join a group
of interdisciplinary faculty (including nine GCoE faculty) working on an
NSF funded project entitled Socially Sustainable Solutions for Water,
Carbon, and Infrastructure Resilience in Oklahoma (S3OK). This project aims
to develop and test socially sustainable, science-based solutions for
complex (“wicked”) problems at the intersection of land use, water
availability, and infrastructure in Oklahoma.

*3. Postdoc position to support an NSF Convergence Accelerator team*
A Postdoc position is available in Dr. Claudia Marin’s research group in
the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Howard
University, available immediately. The successful applicant will conduct
research to support an NSF Convergence Accelerator team, under Dr. Marin’s
supervision in the general area of structural health monitoring. Research
topics include but are not limited to:
- Numerical Analysis
- Systems identification
- Damage assessment
- Structural health monitoring
- Experimental and field dataset collection and analysis
- Machine Learning (ML) and pattern recognition with physics-based
reasoning.
The candidate is expected to take personal initiative to complete tasks to
meet project goals and be capable of responding to deliverable timelines as
are typical in collaborative research involving industry. This position is
designed to end 08/31/2021, with the possibility to be extended pending
availability of funds.
